El-Gazzar Oversees Implementation of “Sakan Kol El Masryeen” Units in Governorates and New Cities

Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities in Egypt, has conducted an extensive meeting to oversee the progress of the “Sakan Kol El Masryeen” initiative, Invest-Gate reports.

The meeting involved officials from the Ministry, the New Urban Communities Authority, and the Social Housing and Real Estate Finance Support Fund. The initiative aims to provide housing units for low-income and middle-income citizens in governorates and new cities.

El-Gazzar emphasized the importance of closely monitoring and following up on all stages of implementation to ensure adherence to set deadlines and high-quality standards. The goal is to deliver the housing units to their intended beneficiaries in the best possible condition, reflecting the dignity and aspirations of Egyptian citizens.

El-Gazzar stressed the need to avoid complacency with contractors, both in terms of implementation rates and the quality of finishes.

Furthermore, El-Gazzar emphasized that contracting companies that demonstrate negligence in their work and fail to meet the required standards should not be tolerated. Works should be withdrawn from such companies and assigned to more reliable and serious firms to accelerate project completion and deliver the units to their rightful recipients.

El-Gazzar directed the organization of periodic meetings to monitor the progress of the presidential initiative’s units.

During the meeting, El-Gazzar reviewed the detailed execution status of the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative in governorates and new cities. Currently, 870,000 housing units have been implemented or are under construction, and an additional 130,000 units are in the process of being assigned.

The minister also reviewed the progress of approximately 25,000 “green housing” units in New Obour, 10th of Ramadan, Capital Gardens, and New Aswan.
