Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, and Dr. Lotfy Gaafar, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at the American University in Cairo (AUC), have signed an agreement to implement a training program, Invest-Gate reports.

The program aimed at enhancing the capabilities of engineers and workers involved in the implementation of the Integrated Sanitation Services Program in rural areas of Luxor Governorate in Upper Egypt.

The program is funded by the African Development Bank and is part of the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Housing and the AUC.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Samer Ezz El-Din, a Construction Engineering Professor at the AUC’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, Dr. Hossam Qabbani, Executive Director at the same faculty, and representatives from the Ministry’s Project Management Unit (PMU).

Dr. Ismail stated that an agreement was reached with the African Development Bank representatives to expand the training program’s reach by including more companies from the governorates of Beni Suef, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan. The training will cover areas such as project management, planning, financial monitoring, contract management, and procurement.

Dr. Ismail emphasized the significance of investing in human resources, as it is a fundamental element for the success of institutions and the achievement of their goals.
