Sayed Ismail, the Deputy Minister of Housing for Infrastructure Affairs, has recently held a meeting with representatives from The Arab Contractors company and an international company specializing in modern control systems for improving the operation of drinking water purification and sewage treatment plants, Invest-Gate reports.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the latest international technologies in this field and explore their potential application in Egypt. Representatives from the Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Housing were also present.

The meeting took place as part of the plans of the Drinking Water and Wastewater Facilities Sector at the Ministry of Housing to enhance the operational quality of drinking water purification and sewage treatment plants.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ismail welcomed the attendees and emphasized the Ministry’s and the utilities sector’s interest in improving the operational systems of existing stations. The goal is to leverage existing assets, ensure the sustainability of service provision, and achieve energy savings through the utilization of the latest control, monitoring, and operation systems.

Ismail provided an overview of the current status of sewage treatment plants in Egypt and the various technologies employed in these plants across the country.

During the meeting, representatives from The Arab Contractors and the private sector company delivered a presentation on their alliance’s experience in implementing and managing drinking water and sanitation facilities. They highlighted the utilization of the latest operational, control, and monitoring systems both within and outside Egypt. The presentation also covered the ongoing projects and the expected outcomes in terms of significant energy consumption savings.
