The third edition of the Il Bosco International Padel Tournament concluded on May 25th, after four days of intense competition at the Il Bosco Sports Club in the New Administrative Capital, Invest-Gate reports.
Organized by Misr Italia Properties (MIP) and JPadel Egypt, the event featured over 100 matches across various categories and brought together professional players from 17 countries.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company (ACUD), and both the International and Egyptian Padel Federations, the tournament saw Egyptian Youssef Hossam and his Argentinean teammate, Julian Lacamoire, emerge as champions. Spaniards Lucia Micaela Fernandez Lopez and Camila Fassio Goyeneche took first place in the women’s category.
Moreover, this year, the tournament attracted 240 players from England, Italy, Qatar, Spain, Argentina, France, and the UAE. It also welcomed first-time participants from Chile, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, and Hungary. The event aimed to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle in Egypt, offering international and local players a platform to compete and exchange experiences.
Furthermore, the 2024 edition introduced several new elements, including a Juniors’ Tournament for players aged 14-18, a competition for universities, and the largest women’s padel tournament in Egypt and the Middle East. The closing ceremony featured prominent attendees such as Ahmed Abdel Khalek from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ahmed Ghatwary, President of the Egyptian and Arab Padel Federations, Ahmed Fathy, Co-CEO of Misr Italia Properties, and Ismail Seddik, CEO of JPadel Egypt.
Also, in the university category, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport claimed first place, with the German University in Cairo finishing second. Winners in the juniors’ tournaments included Omar Nadeem and Zein El Bali (under-14), Adel Al-Sahn and Mohamed El Hamimy (under-16), Salma Mostafa El Zayat and Farida Mohamed Osman (girls’ under-16), and Hassan Shaheen and Wagdy Raslan, alongside Kaori Peko Fernandez and Sara Foguer Lapuente, in the under-18 category.
Notably, Il Bosco, covering 200 feddans, features a mix of villas, apartments, a sports club, and a community. MIP is making MIP the first private-sector developer to establish a fully integrated living zone in the New Administrative Capital, inaugurated in early 2024.
