El-Gazzar Reviews Progress of Road, Axis Projects in New Cairo

Assem El-Gazzar, the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has been closely monitoring the progress of road and axis projects in New Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

He emphasizes the importance of expediting the implementation of these road projects, which serve as vital development arteries for the new urban communities in general.

El-Gazzar underscores the significance of the ongoing road projects in New Cairo, which are part of the state’s plan to enhance the network of eastern Cairo axes. These projects aim to improve traffic flow and provide easy access to the New Administrative Capital (NAC), connecting it with the existing urban areas in eastern Cairo. Furthermore, they aim to facilitate transportation for the residents of New Cairo.

El-Gazzar highlights the need to focus on agricultural work, road beautification, and regular standard maintenance to preserve the completed work in these projects.

El-Gazzar explains that the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), represented by the New Cairo City Development Authority, is undertaking a comprehensive development process for all axes and roads in the city. These roads will be linked to the main roads east of Cairo, including Cairo/Suez, Middle Ring Road, Ring Road, and Old Ain Cairo/Sokhna Road, ultimately connecting the city with the heart of Cairo and the NAC.

Abdel Raouf El-Gheity, the head of the New Cairo City Development Authority, reveals that multiple road projects are underway within the Sixth Settlement, known as “The Triangle of Hope,” spanning approximately 4,800 feddans.

These projects aim to connect the settlement with existing roads and highways, transforming it into an extension of New Cairo. The goal is to create a new integrated urban community that complements the existing city. The southern extension of New Cairo city is located south of the new Ain Sokhna/Kattameya Road and serves as an extension and new outlet for the city. Additionally, its proximity to the NAC further enhances its strategic importance.
