Dubai’s developer Nakheel recently awarded a AED 165 mn contract to build six marinas, Invest-Gate reports.
The marinas are expected to accommodate a total of 614 boats and yachts up to 60 meters long, the company said in a statement.
The company has so far invested more than AED 7.5 bn in infrastructure and construction at Deira Islands in Dubai.
Nakheel has appointed UAE-based APCC Piling and Contracting to construct the marinas, with plans to start construction works in the fourth quarter of 2017 and a phased delivery over two years.
“We are investing billions of dirhams to deliver Deira Islands and transform Dubai’s Deira district into a world class hub for tourism, retail, leisure and entertainment,” Nakheel Chairman Ali Rashid Lootah stated.
