El Sherbini Announces Extended Deadline for Property Down Payments

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El Sherbini has announced a two-month extension for completing down payments at current prices, Invest-Gate reports.

This extension applies to land plots and residential units offered in various projects from early 2022 to the announcement date, expanding the original scope, which covered offerings from early 2023. This initiative aims to accommodate more applicants and provide them with suitable housing opportunities.

For his part, Hassan El Shourbagy, Vice President of the New Urban Communities Authority for Real Estate and Commercial Affairs, specified that the extension includes small residential land plots available through the online reservation system, the “Masaken” program, and housing units in projects such as Janna, Sakan Misr, Dar Misr, and the Distinguished Housing projects, as well as land and units offered in the “Beit Al Watan” project.

Moreover, El Shourbagy clarified that the extension is subject to conditions: the land plot or unit must be vacant, not previously allocated or re-offered, any legal claims against the authority or city agency must be withdrawn, and the earnest money paid must not have been refunded.

Notably, this move underscores the ministry’s commitment to meeting the demands of a larger number of applicants and facilitating access to adequate housing.
