Schneider Electric Highlights Sustainability, Digital Transformation at Green Community Forum

During the third Green Community Forum, Mohamed El Hefnawy, Vice President of Industry at Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and Levant, emphasized the company’s global commitment to sustainability, Invest-Gate reports.

He noted that sustainability is central to Schneider Electric’s strategy, which has six key goals, including climate preservation. “We are proud to be ranked among the most sustainable companies in the world by Time magazine and Statista for 2024,” El Hefnawy stated.

He explained that the green transformation is driven by two main pillars: energy efficiency and renewable energy. The company integrates technology into manufacturing processes to reduce carbon emissions and decrease reliance on fossil fuels.

El Hefnawy highlighted Schneider Electric’s new digital solutions, including the EcoStruxure Automation Expert, which was launched earlier this year. This next-generation automation system accelerates technological transformation, facilitates data transfer, and ensures industrial sustainability.

The company has contributed to major projects in New Alamein and the New Administrative Capital and the first phase of automating control centers to improve Egypt’s power distribution network. Additionally, Schneider Electric aims to boost production efficiency by connecting storage, production, and supply chains through advanced infrastructure management systems.

Schneider Electric’s Badr City facility, the largest in the region, manufactures low- and medium-voltage panels. The company exports over 20% of the plant’s output to more than 30 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Kenya. Egypt serves as Schneider Electric’s hub for North East Africa and the Levant, with 1,500 regional employees, most of whom are based in Egypt.
