Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing and Mortgage Finance Fund (SHMFF), has participated in a high-level roundtable titled “A Future Vision for Advancing Regional Public Digital Infrastructure Agendas in a Global Context,” Invest-Gate reports.
The event was part of the Global Public Digital Infrastructure Summit in Cairo.
During the discussion, Abdel Hamid emphasized the significant strides SHMFF has made in embracing digital transformation across all services offered to citizens. She noted that the fund began its digital journey even before the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to streamline procedures and ensure transparency in handling applications. The pandemic further validated the importance of this shift, accelerating the fund’s efforts in digitalization.
Moreover, addressing initial concerns about low-income citizens’ ability to engage with digital systems, Abdel Hamid explained that SHMFF implemented simplified procedures, ensuring citizens could easily submit the required documents for housing applications.
Furthermore, the fund launched the Cservices website, which allows citizens to track their applications online and manage inquiries and complaints via its official Facebook page.
Also, Abdel Hamid highlighted the fund’s partnerships with international organizations, which have played a pivotal role in supporting SHMFF’s digital transformation. She expressed the fund’s commitment to further enhancing its digital services, ensuring quicker application processing and improving overall efficiency.
Notably, the SHMFF continues to use its official platforms to provide verified information and counter misinformation, demonstrating its commitment to transparency and better service for citizens.
