Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, met with Mmamoloko Kubayi, Minister of Human Settlements of South Africa, along with the South African Ambassador to Cairo and their accompanying delegation, to present the Egyptian urban experience and discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries on the sidelines of the third day of the 12th World Urban Forum (WUF12), Invest-Gate reports.
El Sherbini welcomed his South African counterpart, the Ambassador, and the delegation to Egypt for their participation in WUF12, which returns to Africa after more than 20 years.
He emphasized that the Egyptian state, represented by the Ministry of Housing, is ready to share its expertise and transfer its experience to South Africa and all African countries.
Additionally, he also highlighted that Egyptian contracting companies, consulting firms, and real estate developers possess extensive experience in implementing various urban development projects. These companies have a strong presence in both the African and Middle Eastern markets and are prepared to undertake projects anywhere in the world.
He suggested organizing joint workshops between the two sides to establish frameworks for collaboration.
For her part, the South African minister praised the significant advancements made by the Egyptian state in urban development, expressing her country’s desire to enhance and deepen cooperation with Egypt in various areas of urban development.
