Housing Minister, Cairo Governor Monitor Progress of Projects Reviving Historic Cairo, Development Initiatives in the Governorate

Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, held discussions with Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, during the third day of the 12th World Urban Forum to review the progress of projects aimed at revitalizing historic Cairo and the development initiatives being carried out by the Ministry of Housing within the governorate, Invest-Gate reports.

El Sherbini underscored that, in alignment with the directives of the political leadership, the Ministry of Housing, in collaboration with the Cairo Governorate and the Urban Development Fund, has embarked on enhancing unstable zones within Cairo Governorate.

This includes initiatives like the Maspero Triangle Area Development Project and ongoing efforts to rejuvenate Khedivial Cairo. These endeavors are part of the state’s overarching strategy to rejuvenate historic Cairo and reinforce its historical, cultural, and civilizational significance.

He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to offering comprehensive support to the Cairo Governorate to expedite the progress of these undertakings.

Saber elucidated that the governorate and its administrative bodies remain dedicated to collaborating closely with the Ministry of Housing and its affiliated entities to implement a spectrum of development projects within the governorate, aimed at benefitting the residents of Cairo Governorate.
