ACUD Receives a Delegation from “Differently-Abled” on the Occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

In collaboration with the Ministries of “Youth and Sports” and “Social Solidarity,” the New Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company receives a delegation of students from “Differently-Abled” on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

In line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to support and empower people with disabilities and integrate them in society, Engineer Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the New Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), received Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and a delegation of students from the Egyptian Federation for Intellectual Disabilities “differently-abled,” led by Engineer Amal Mabdy, Vice President of the Paralympic Committee and President of the Egyptian Federation of Intellectual Disabilities, at the company’s headquarters.

In this context, Engineer Khaled Abbas stated, “We are proud to be part of these noble efforts, and we are delighted to offer people with disabilities the unique experience of visiting our large-scale urban projects.” He added that the company is always keen to receive visits from the “differently-abled” students in the New Administrative Capital and to organize these visits regularly in coordination with all relevant entities.

He explained that the “Path of Life” educational initiative was recently launched, aiming to create an inclusive community for children with special needs (SEND) in the field of education. The initiative covers children with various disabilities, such as autism and dyslexia, as well as emotional, social, and psychological needs. This pioneering initiative is launched in partnership with the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company (ACUD), in collaboration with the British foundation “WMC” and “Cavendish Education” company.

Dr. Maya Morsi, the Minister of Social Solidarity, stated that this collaboration comes as part of the coordination and integration between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company to support efforts in enhancing and protecting the rights of people with disabilities, integrating them into society, providing a supportive environment, and granting them equal opportunities that enable them to participate effectively alongside other members of society.

The Minister of Social Solidarity clarified that the first center offering free childcare for the children of female employees working at the Ministry of Justice headquarters in the New Administrative Capital was recently opened. Additionally, another center will be opened at the Ministry of Social Solidarity in the upcoming months, and coordination is underway with the New Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company to establish the third center for free childcare for the children of female employees at the company’s headquarters. This initiative is an essential and significant step in line with the goals of the President’s human development initiative, “A New Beginning for Building the Human,” which focuses on providing a safe, healthy, and inclusive educational environment.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, explained that the New Administrative Capital’s reception of the “Able Differently” student delegation reflects the attention and care that the Egyptian state, through all its institutions and under the direct guidance of the political leadership, provides to our children with disabilities, focusing on empowering them and integrating them across all sectors of the state’s service and development fields.

He added that the collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the New Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company stems from the fruitful and ongoing cooperation between us, in addition to implementing joint programs for children and youth with disabilities and special needs. This emphasizes the Egyptian state’s commitment to integrating and empowering people with disabilities and opening new horizons for them to participate in building the future of Egypt.
