Mostafa Asal and Nouran Gohar, players from Palm Hills Sports Club, have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong Squash Open Championship, Invest-Gate reports.
This achievement reflects the efforts of the Palm Hills Sports Club management in attracting professional players and enhancing their skills to reach the podium, pursue their dream of winning medals at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, and transfer their expertise to youth to prepare new champions, thereby maintaining Egypt’s leadership in the sport.
In the men’s competition, Palm Hills champion Mostafa Asal, ranked second in the world, won the Hong Kong Championship title after defeating his compatriot Ali Farag, the world number one, with a score of 3-1 in a match that lasted 51 minutes. The set scores were 11-5, 4-11, 11-8, and 11-5.
In the women’s competition, Nouran Gohar, also ranked second in the world, triumphed over her compatriot Nour El Sherbini, the world number one, with a score of 3-1 in a match lasting 55 minutes. The set scores were 6-11, 11-5, 11-9, and 11-9. With this victory, Nouran Gohar is expected to top the new women’s world rankings, which will be released today by the Professional Squash Association.
