Prime Minister Monitors Development Progress in Ras El Hekma and Resettlement of Families in Shams El Hekma Area

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, held a meeting today to assess the progress of development projects in Ras El Hekma and the resettlement of families within the Shams El Hekma area, Invest-Gate reports.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Lieutenant-General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, as well as other significant figures from various ministries and local authorities.

Mohamed El-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Cabinet, explained that the meeting focused on the development status of Shams El Hekma. This included detailed planning for family housing locations and the implementation of utility networks. It was confirmed that road construction for housing designated for families has been completed, while work on water supply, sewage systems, and electricity networks is currently ongoing.

El-Homsani further stated that the meeting reviewed the progress of resettling families in the first phase within Shams El Hekma, specifically regarding legalizing land use and contracts. It was noted that the governorate had announced the opening of applications for compensation claims, allowing eligible claimants to legalize their land and obtain building permits, with special services provided by the technology center in the Shams El Hekma area to assist in this process.

In addition, El-Homsani mentioned that the meeting included updates on the establishment of an experimental school in Ras El Hekma, which has shown promising progress so far. The discussion also covered the project for developing the alternative southern area for local tribes and reviewed the procedures for delivering the first phase of this initiative. Regarding compensation for residents in the Ras El Hekma area, it was noted that the total compensation disbursed to date has reached approximately EGP 5.5 billion.

El-Homsani added that the meeting emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the success of the Ras El Hekma project and facilitating the execution of various initiatives within it.
