ACUD Chairman Hosts Delegation from Bahrain’s Council of Representatives and Shura Council in New Administrative Capital

Eng. Khaled Abbas, Chairman of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD), welcomed a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by Ahmed Qarata, the Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Dr. Fatima Al Kooheji, a member of the Shura Council and Deputy Head of the delegation, along with several accompanying members, Invest Gate Reports.

The visit aimed to familiarize them with the New Administrative Capital project.

The meeting commenced with Abbas extending a warm welcome to the Bahraini delegation and presenting a documentary film showcasing the significant developments of the New Administrative Capital. The film highlighted the various technological approaches employed in the capital’s execution, operation, and management, including control centers, data centers, and infrastructure projects encompassing electricity, renewable energy, water supply, green building principles, and visual identity.

Abbas emphasized that the capital currently employs around 50,000 staff members and is home to six international universities and twelve international schools, illustrating that the capital is alive and thriving. He announced plans to commence infrastructure work for the second phase of the capital as soon as possible, in addition to starting the construction of the the House of Representatives, the Shura Council and the headquarters of banks.

Qarata expressed his delight at witnessing this remarkable achievement and the warm hospitality they received, stating, “I have not seen any project across the Arab world that rivals the New Administrative Capital in Egypt. This grand project will elevate Egypt to a new level of civilization and history on all fronts. What has been accomplished here is an unprecedented Egyptian achievement.” He also noted that Bahrain is eager to leverage the experiences from the New Administrative Capital project and will encourage Bahraini companies to engage and invest in it. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the City of Arts and Culture and the House of Representatives.
