PM Madbouly Inaugurates Expansion of Construction Materials Factory in Ain Sokhna

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the expansion of C-Board, formerly known as Sinopat for Building Materials, during his tour of the integrated industrial zone in Ain Sokhna, Invest-Gate reports. The factory specializes in manufacturing cement boards, prefabricated cement walls, and thermal insulation panels and operates under the Main Development Company, an industrial developer in the region.

During the visit, Madbouly was accompanied by senior officials and received a briefing from Charles Khoury, Chairman of C-Board. He emphasized the importance of modern construction technologies in boosting Egypt’s construction sector and accelerating project execution across various applications.

Khoury highlighted that the factory is a Lebanese investment, with the new expansions including a cement board plant spanning 60,000 sqm, built with an investment of USD 25 mn and creating 125 jobs. The facility was completed in 10 months, starting in May 2024. Additionally, ECOPAT Industrial Development, a gypsum board manufacturing plant covering 10,000 sqm, was constructed in 8 months starting in June 2024, with an investment of USD 15 mn, providing 225 jobs. The total investment in the factory now stands at USD 100 mn.

Madbouly toured the gypsum board production line, observing the entire process—from raw material reception to mixing, drying, cutting, and final packaging for shipping. He then visited the fiber cement board plant, where Khoury provided insights into the various production stages and product applications.

Khoury further revealed that the company plans to invest $500 million in new projects within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, capitalizing on the region’s investment incentives and streamlined procedures.

As part of the visit, Madbouly also examined a full-scale model of a two-story house constructed in just one month using the company’s cement board materials. The project, branded “Modula Complex”, is designed to withstand extreme temperatures and can be dismantled and reassembled, offering cost-effective housing solutions.

Khoury noted that 50% of the factory’s production serves the local market, while the remaining 50% is exported internationally, underscoring Egypt’s growing role in construction material exports.
