Mountain View Reaffirms Commitment to ESG Principles in Line with Egypt’s Vision 2030

Mountain View Development has released its 2023/2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development practices aligned with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), Invest-Gate reports.

The report highlights Mountain View’s ongoing efforts to balance real estate development with environmental and social responsibility. “We are committed to building communities that prioritise innovation, environmental consciousness, and the wellbeing of our residents,” the company said.

As part of its carbon footprint reduction efforts, Mountain View has adopted innovative strategies such as relying entirely on electricity for building operations and reducing transportation emissions by sourcing from local suppliers. The company also prioritises sustainable resource management through waste reduction, water conservation, energy-efficient smart systems, and the use of eco-friendly materials like pozzolana, a low-carbon alternative to cement.

Projects such as iCity New Cairo and LVLS were cited as examples of environmentally conscious urban planning, featuring walkable streets, green spaces, and energy-saving infrastructure. In 2023, Mountain View completed its first carbon footprint assessment, which totalled 603.84 metric tonnes of CO₂ equivalent emissions.

On the social sustainability front, the company launched several community-focused initiatives. These include the “Discovering Champions” programme—benefiting 40,000 youths, 48% of them girls—and the Mountain View International School of Applied Technology, which aims to equip young Egyptians with modern skills. The company also promotes employee wellbeing through green, collaborative workspaces.

To ensure ESG integration across operations, Mountain View established a dedicated team focused on transparency, accountability, and sustainable leadership. The full report is available on the company’s official website.
