Housing Minister Reviews Progress on 2,548 Units in “Diarna” Project in New Sohag City

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has followed up on the progress of the 2,548 units in the “Diarna” housing project currently available for reservation in New Sohag City, Invest-Gate reports.

He emphasized the importance of proper planning and implementation of the project’s various services, noting that it is part of the Ministry of Housing’s ongoing efforts to develop the Upper Egypt governorates.

Eng. Sherif Abdel Badie, Head of the New Sohag City Authority, explained that the units in the project range in size from 104 to 154 sqm.

He highlighted that the project is located on plot No. 3 in the 683-feddan area within the southern expansions of New Sohag City. The site is strategically situated next to an integrated urban area (compounds) and adjacent to the 455-feddan area, noted for its distinguished housing plots. It also offers easy access from the main airport road.

The project will include essential and recreational services to meet residents’ needs, such as places of worship, a nursery, commercial markets, and expansive green spaces.

Additionally, it will provide a high level of privacy and security through the construction of perimeter walls, main gates, advanced surveillance cameras, and the latest fire-fighting systems.

Notably, the Ministry of Housing has announced the opening of applications for housing units in the Diarna middle-income housing project from April 15, 2025, to May 15, 2025. This initiative is part of the first phase of the largest housing offering dedicated to middle-income individuals in 2025, with units available in New Sohag City.
