Housing Minister Follows Up on Progress of “The Great Transfiguration” Project in Saint Catherine

Eng. Sherif El Sherbini Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities held a meeting to review the latest developments in the “Great Transfiguration Over the Land of Peace” project in Saint Catherine, Sinai, Invest-Gate reports.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Housing, the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and representatives of the implementing companies.

The minister examined progress on key components of the project, including the Peace Square and building, the development of Wadi Al-Deir, the construction of the new eco-lodge extension in Wadi Al Raha, and the hotel resort in Al Zeitouna. He instructed the teams to complete the work within the planned timeline.

El Sherbini also followed up on site supply logistics and called for addressing the observations made during his last visit to the Al Zeitouna resort. He emphasized finalizing landscaping work and ensuring continuous monitoring.

The meeting also covered updates on the new visitor centre, renovation of the city’s heritage centre including the Sacred Valley Mosque, development of existing shops and construction of new ones, and enhancement of Wadi Al Arbaeen. The minister stressed the importance of expanding green areas.

Further discussions included the status of sewage treatment plants in the heritage city and Al Zeitouna, as well as the 9-km road from the Nabi Saleh checkpoint to the visitor centre and the electricity network works.
