Schneider Electric has launched a new initiative, “Energy Efficiency Audits,” to help Egyptian businesses cut energy consumption and move closer to net-zero operations, Invest-Gate reports.
The company will provide 25 fully funded audits across various facilities, focusing on improving energy use in systems like HVAC, cooling, compressed air, and building operations.
Announced at a press conference in Cairo, the initiative drew high-level attendees, including H.E. Éric Chevallier, French Ambassador to Egypt, and Dr. Ahmed Mohina, First Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. Chevallier praised the initiative, calling it “a first-of-its-kind globally for Schneider Electric,” and highlighted its role in supporting Egypt’s energy independence and climate goals.
Dr. Mohina said the move aligns with Egypt’s National Integrated Sustainable Energy Strategy, which targets an 18% reduction in energy consumption by 2030 and increasing renewables to 42% of the energy mix. “This marks a strategic milestone on Egypt’s path to sustainability,” he said.
Sebastien Riez, CEO of Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and the Levant, described the initiative as central to the company’s mission. “We are committed to helping Egyptian companies reduce emissions and improve operational efficiency through our global expertise,” he said.
Seif El Demerdash, Vice President of Services for the region, noted the initiative includes detailed audits, feasibility studies, and actionable cost-benefit plans. “Our approach ensures practical outcomes and supports Egypt’s energy transformation,” he said.
The initiative complements other sustainability efforts, including Schneider’s upcoming “Impact Run” on May 23, aimed at raising awareness and community engagement.
