SODIC, one of Egypt’s leading real estate developers, announced that its flagship North Coast project, Ogami, has won the “Best Masterplan” award at the 2025 Architecture Leaders Awards, organized by Design Middle East magazine in Dubai, Invest-Gate reports.
Designed by global architecture firm DLR Group, Ogami earned this recognition for its innovative approach that blends environmental sustainability with cultural and social impact. Spanning 440 feddans along Egypt’s North Coast, the project redefines coastal living through a minimalist masterplan inspired by Japanese design philosophy.
Ogami features a luxury Nobu-branded hotel, residences, and restaurant, alongside premium architecture, expansive green spaces, and an 800-meter beachfront. The layout integrates residential zones, hospitality areas, and community hubs with a seamless network of open spaces. Notably, 24% of the site is dedicated to greenery and 5.6% to water features, reflecting a long-term vision for ecological harmony and walkability.
Ayman Amer, General Manager of SODIC, stated:“Ogami was born from an exceptional vision — to bring a collection of world-class experiences to Egypt. From the outset, our goal was not to develop a conventional coastal project, but to craft a globally inspired destination with a unique cultural identity. Winning the ‘Best Masterplan’ award reaffirms this vision and our commitment to delivering destinations in the North Coast that exceed expectations.”
Industry experts praised the project for its refined design, forward-looking vision, and use of sustainable planning strategies. Ogami’s distinctive Japanese-inspired aesthetics and commitment to enhancing quality of life set a new benchmark for large-scale coastal developments in the region.
Launched in 2024, Ogami is SODIC’s largest coastal development to date. The first phase is set for delivery in 2028, with full completion expected by 2029.
