CIB Renews Sponsorship for the Egyptian Squash Open 2025, Returning Under the Iconic Pyramids

CIB has reaffirmed its commitment to sports sponsorship by renewing its partnership with the Egyptian Squash Open 2025, marking the tournament’s return to the Giza Pyramids after a three-year hiatus, Invest-Gate reports.

Scheduled to run from September 8 to 19, the championship stands as the first and largest Diamond Series event on the PSA World Tour calendar for the second year in a row. The tournament will open at O West Sports Club before moving to the iconic glass court at the Pyramids for the final stages.

Bringing together 152 players from 29 countries, the event offers a record prize pool of USD 732,000, split equally between men and women. Egyptian champions Nour El Sherbini and Mostafa Asal will defend their titles, with top global players set to compete.

Dr. Amr El-Ganainy, CEO of Institutional Banking at CIB, emphasized that the sponsorship reflects the bank’s strategy to promote Egypt’s global leadership in squash while reinforcing its support for youth and sports development.

For his part, Eng. Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of Orascom Development, noted that hosting the event at O West and the Pyramids enhances Egypt’s position as a premier sports tourism destination. He added that the collaboration with CIB and iEvents ensures world-class organization and international visibility.

With a projected live attendance of 850 spectators and global digital reach exceeding 150,000 viewers, the tournament is expected to reinforce Egypt’s status as the capital of world squash while showcasing the country’s cultural landmarks on an international stage.
