In partnership with Jadeer Group, IHG Hotels & Resorts will bring the first Hotel Indigo to Egypt, adding 120 rooms to New Cairo by 2031. The property will be part of the Red G project, a mixed-use development featuring residences, retail, and hospitality outlets along North 90th Street, near the New Capital, the American University in Cairo, and key business and leisure hubs, Invest-Gate reports.
Eng. Mahmoud abouelkhair, Chairman of Jadeer Group, said the agreement marks a milestone for the company’s flagship Red G project. “Hotel Indigo, known for blending lifestyle with culture, will be a major addition to New Cairo. We are confident it will attract both local and international guests with a unique experience that tells the story of its vibrant surroundings,” he stated.
Haitham Mattar, Managing Director for India, Middle East & Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized Egypt’s importance to the group’s regional growth. “This partnership underlines our commitment to Cairo’s hospitality sector and supports Egypt’s national tourism strategy. Hotel Indigo is designed to thrive in culturally rich neighborhoods, making New Cairo an ideal location,” he said.
IHG currently operates eight hotels in Egypt under four brands: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites. The group plans to expand with 22 additional properties in the coming years.
With over 19 years of experience, Jadeer Group has delivered more than 75 residential and commercial projects valued above EGP 8 bn, and is now investing nearly EGP 20 bn in five new developments. Landmark projects include Obex in the New Capital’s financial district, Code in central NC, Garnet in New Cairo, and Red G — which will house Egypt’s first Hotel Indigo.
