Eng. Sherif El Sherbini, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities announced that the ministry will launch the second phase of its major housing program through the “The Official Egyptian Real Estate Platform” in early October. The initiative is part of the government’s plan to provide around 400,000 housing units in several stages, Invest-Gate reports.
The announcement follows directives from H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to ensure adequate housing for citizens, enhance digital transformation, and strengthen Egypt’s position as a promising real estate investment destination.
El Sherbini emphasized that the platform is a key step in the state’s digitalization strategy, serving as a unified gateway for marketing real estate projects locally and internationally. He noted that the ministry is also preparing a specialized platform to promote Egyptian real estate exports, with a comprehensive system for classifying units, identifying target markets, and creating a global marketing strategy.
The minister highlighted ongoing work on the “Unified National Real Estate ID System,” designed to regulate the market and provide accurate, transparent data. The platform will offer an integrated, real-time database that facilitates secure access to information for both citizens and investors.
El Sherbini reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing President El-Sisi’s vision of ensuring decent housing for Egyptians while boosting Egypt’s profile as a regional and international investment hub.
The Official Egyptian Real Estate Platform (www.realestate.gov.eg) provides up-to-date property listings and integrated digital services, aiming to improve the quality of real estate transactions in Egypt and connect the local market with global investors.
