Al-Futtaim Education Foundation and Dwight Schools Announce Partnership to Launch “Dwight Cairo” at Cairo Festival City

Al-Futtaim Education Foundation announced the signing of a strategic partnership with Dwight Schools—one of the world’s leading independent international school networks—to establish Dwight Cairo within Cairo Festival City, Invest-Gate reports.

The new campus will introduce Dwight’s globally recognized International Baccalaureate curriculum to Egypt for the first time, reflecting a shared commitment to delivering values-driven, future-focused education that nurtures creativity, character, and global citizenship. The agreement reinforces the dedication of both entities to expanding high-quality international learning opportunities with an approach centered on innovation and holistic student development.

Dwight Schools, with more than 150 years of academic heritage, operates a global network across New York, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Dubai, Hanoi, and its online global school. Stephen Spahn, Chancellor of Dwight Schools, said the partnership marks an important milestone in expanding the school’s mission of empowering students through personalized, purpose-driven learning. He noted that bringing Dwight’s educational philosophy to Egypt continues a long-standing legacy of fostering cross-cultural understanding and preparing young people to become positive changemakers across the world.

Blake Spahn, Vice Chancellor of Dwight Schools, emphasized that Dwight’s network has long served as a model of innovation and global connectivity, uniting students, educators, and families across continents. He added that integrating Dwight Cairo into the network opens new pathways for academic collaboration and cultural exchange among its campuses stretching from New York and London to Seoul, Shanghai, Dubai, and Hanoi.

Mira Al Futtaim , CEO of Future of Education at Al-Futtaim Education Foundation, said the establishment of Dwight Cairo aligns with the Foundation’s long-term vision to reshape the future of education in the region. She explained that introducing Dwight’s model in Egypt reflects a commitment to providing world-class, future-ready learning environments that combine the school’s long-standing academic excellence with Al-Futtaim’s belief in education as a driving force for positive societal change. She stressed that the new school aims to empower a new generation capable of leading with ambition, creativity, and global awareness.

Dr. Farah Al Sarraj, CEO of Corporate and Administrative Affairs at the Foundation, stated that launching Dwight Cairo represents a significant step in raising the quality of educational options available to students in Egypt. She highlighted that offering the International Baccalaureate program supports the development of critical thinking, creativity, and intercultural understanding, skills essential for success in an increasingly complex global landscape. She reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to fostering environments where academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and human values converge.

Following the completion of regulatory approvals, Dwight Cairo will open its first academic year by welcoming students from Pre-K through Grade 5, with plans for gradual expansion to higher grades in subsequent years. The establishment of the school will be overseen by Tom Ferguson, an experienced educator and current Head of School at Dwight Seoul, to ensure that the new Cairo campus reflects the cultural identity, educational philosophy, and quality standards that define Dwight Schools worldwide.
