Midar’s Managing Director: We Achieved in Less Than 3 Years What Was Planned for 7 Years

Eng. Ayman ElKousey, Managing Director and CEO of Midar for Investment and Urban Development, the main developer of “Mostakbal City” and “Mada” in New Cairo, held a television interview with an international news network, during which he highlighted the company’s key achievements over the past period and the results of a new strategy launched three years ago, successfully implemented on a large scale, paving the way for a new phase of accomplishments, Invest-Gate reports.

Achieving Major Milestones Ahead of Schedule

ElKousey pointed out that the company achieved in less than three years what was originally planned to be accomplished in seven years, demonstrating Midar’s strong market position as a developer of integrated mega cities. The company has successfully established genuine partnerships with local and regional investors in “Mostakbal City” and “Mada,” covering a land portfolio exceeding 50mn sqm in New Cairo, creating a successful model for million-resident cities.

Successes of “Mostakbal City” and Local Partnerships

He noted that “Mostakbal City” achieved remarkable success by contracting with more than 25 leading Egyptian developers, adding a high-quality lifestyle to the city, which also signed partnership agreements with major developers and investors, including a partnership with “Adeer International” under the Saudi “Sumou Holding” to develop a large project. The city has become a model of fourth-generation urban development, with over 52 projects executed by developers, encouraging Midar to launch “Mada,” which succeeded in contracting with regional developers.

Success of “Mada” and Attracting Regional Investments

He confirmed that “Mada,” a fifth-generation city spanning 25mn sqm in New Cairo, achieved significant success in attracting strong regional investments, including agreements with UAE’s “Emaar” to develop 2mn sqm and with “SODIC” to develop another 2mn sqm, further establishing the city as a prime investment area in New Cairo.

Expanding Partnership Models and Attracting Global Investments

ElKousey stated that Midar’s success encouraged the company to establish a broader partnership model, collaborating with Gulf and regional companies on various projects, in addition to partnerships with Europe and North America to attract investments in education and healthcare, as part of Midar’s strategy to diversify investors and expand its investment portfolio.

Integration with Government Infrastructure

He added that Midar does not compete with the government but rather complements it, benefiting from state infrastructure, including roads, utilities, and transportation, allowing the company to invest in land and transform it into mega cities.

Flexible Partnership Mechanisms and Investor Support

Regarding the partnership model, ElKousey emphasized that the company carefully selects success partners and facilitates their entry into investment opportunities through flexible mechanisms, providing comprehensive support via global design and consultancy plans, ensuring ease of initial steps and confidence in project implementation.

Investment Fund in Hospitality and Tourism

ElKousey highlighted that Midar launched an investment fund in the hospitality and tourism sectors with Sumou Holding, with USD 2bn in investments. Several projects are being studied in different locations, along with plans to expand beyond the company’s land portfolio in New Cairo, including a major project in hospitality and tourism in central Cairo and a large shopping area within New Cairo.

Expansion Plans for 2026

He stated that the company plans to expand in 2026 through capital increases and collaboration with local and global real estate and investment funds, aiming to develop global medical cities and integrated educational cities. The upcoming investments are expected to range from USD 500mn to USD 1bn, opening new horizons for geographic growth.

Vision 2026: Preferred Destination for Developers and Investors

ElKousey concluded by stating that Midar aims to become the preferred destination for developers, investors, and citizens by providing an integrated environment with multiple options for shared success. In 2026, the company plans to enter the global market through partnerships with European developers to develop large-scale medical and educational cities within Midar’s developments.
