Midar for Investment and Urban Development has signed a memorandum of understanding with Italy’s Gruppo GKSD to develop a fully integrated medical, educational, and research city in “Mada” in New Cairo, with total investments ranging between €500 million and €600 million, Invest-Gate reports.
Strategic Partnership for Healthcare Excellence
The collaboration combines Midar’s expertise in developing integrated cities with GKSD’s global experience in healthcare operations, ensuring the delivery of a world class medical ecosystem aligned with international standards.
Integrated Medical City Development
The project will include advanced hospitals with a capacity of up to 500 beds, a medical school accommodating up to 5,000 students, and a research and training center, creating a comprehensive hub for healthcare, education, and scientific research.

Strengthening East Cairo’s Investment Appeal
Midar emphasized that the project supports its strategy to provide fully integrated services within its developments, especially as East Cairo and the New Administrative Capital are expected to witness significant population growth.
Boosting Foreign Investment and Medical Tourism
This initiative marks a strong step in attracting foreign direct investment and positions New Cairo as a regional hub for medical tourism and specialized healthcare services, adding long term value to Egypt’s real estate and investment landscape.
