The second edition of The Big 5 Construct Egypt, held at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC) from September 2 to 4, hosted 240 local and international companies, alongside more than 300 brands of innovative construction products, materials, and solutions.
Held under the auspices of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s largest construction event was officially inaugurated by Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar, providing a professional platform to foster industry best practices, business, and investment opportunities, gathering firms from China, Greece, France, Korea, Jordan, UAE, to name a few.
“The housing ministry will continue to support exhibitions similar to The Big 5 Construct Egypt in the coming years, as the construction industry is witnessing exponential growth and contributes to boosting the development index of the industrial sectors behind it, which acts as a catalyst for several interlocking fields,” El Gazzar highlighted during his keynote address, stressing that abundance of investment opportunities, land plots, and residential units of various kinds will be presented in new cities nationwide shortly.
Beyond meeting with hundreds of suppliers of construction products, visitors also benefitted from over 55 CPD-certified seminars, which were offered for free and presented by leading industry experts, including developers such as Egypt Green Building Council, Khatib & Alami (K&A), Orascom Development Holding (ODH), and Palm Hills Developments (PHD), who shed light on related aspects such as women in construction and innovative building techniques.
Moreover, BIM Breakout Seminars – certified by Autodesk – took place for the first time in Egypt, together with a wide range of dedicated workshops on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR), as well as, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services.
Organized by Dmg events, the tradeshow was sponsored by Sphinx Glass and supported by the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC), Quali Middle East Association (QMEA), World Architecture Community (MEFMA), Dubai Exports, and German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Egypt). Furthermore, Invest-Gate was named the event’s official media partner.
