The 15th of May City Development Authority will finalize handing over apartments this week to flood victims relocated to the Zohour Mayo (“May Flowers”) housing units, Invest-Gate reports, citing the authority’s head Mustafa Saeed.
The preparation of handover receipts is complete and the distribution to beneficiaries has begun in order of building and unit, Saeed said, to facilitate a safe process without overcrowding.
Citizens were called on to cooperate for quick completion, with unit deliveries to follow receipt distribution. The project followed a government directive after the 2020 flooding to provide housing.
Located on 67.5 feddans east of the ring road, May Flowers includes 1,008 apartments in 42 buildings, 834 prefab rooms, a school, clinic and nursery across 90,000 square meters of units and 1,750 square meters of commerce.
Green spaces and roads also serve the relocation area resulting from “great efforts” across state agencies, said Saeed.
