Approximately 2,400 land plots have been delivered in New Tiba City as part of a social housing program, according to Ashraf Fathy Abdelrahman, head of the New Tiba Authority, Al Mal reported.
Construction on the units is scheduled to get underway soon, following the granting of building permits. The land plots have been dedicated to social housing units since 2011, Abdelrahman told Al Mal. Meanwhile, the authority is currently delivering a number social housing units to residents across the city.
The upcoming project is scheduled to be executed over a year, while other projects will also be constructed in the area, including three main roads at a cost of EGP 22 mn, a public library at a cost of EGP 7 mn, and two public parks measuring 1.5 acres and 7 acres, respectively, at a total cost of EGP 14 mn.
Tiba City is located 14 km north-east of Luxor, with a total area of 9,495 acres and a target population of 238,000 residents.
