A total of 5,340 social housing units were completed in New Beni Suef City, at a cost of EGP 570 mn, according to Nour El Din Ismail, Head of the New Beni Suef Authority, reported Al Mal.

Of these, a total of 500 units have been delivered. The city is also expected to include several new amenities alongside the residential units, such as a public park, an entertainment area, two police checkpoints, a school, a commercial outlet, and a health care unit.

Plans for the city also include building an additional 19 residential buildings for social housing, containing 380 units, at a total cost of EGP 59.28 mn, Ismail added.

The projects within the city are all funded by the investment plan and budget allocated to the city for fiscal year 2016/2017, which has recorded a total of EGP 173 mn, compared to last year’s budget which amounted to EGP 228 mn.
