ABB Provides Energy-Saving Cooling for Egypt’s New Alamein City Buildings

Engineering firm ABB will partner with Quasi Systems to supply advanced cooling systems for major construction projects in Egypt’s New Alamein City under an energy efficiency drive, Invest-Gate reports.

The company will provide over 470 air cooling units to the presidential palace, university, towers, and hotels being built in New Alamein City on the Mediterranean coast.

Variable frequency motors from ABB feature energy monitoring and control integration functions. They also support safe operation and compatibility with ventilation and fire safety requirements.

This will help reduce the development’s annual electricity usage by 25-30% through optimized technologies that constantly track performance.

New Alamein City is a flagship national project that aims to transform Egypt’s tourism landscape, create jobs, and house 3 million people around historical sites in resort complexes and commercial centers.

ABB chose to participate given the landmark development’s quality needs and the firm’s sustainability priorities around slashing carbon emissions and maximizing efficiency through electrical systems expertise.

The venture underscores efforts to build advanced infrastructure deploying best practices as Egypt constructs new cities endowed with advanced living standards and business activities.
