Khaled Abbas, Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities for National Projects, participates in a session at the MIPIM exhibition, entitled “Cities for Citizens”, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, the Mayor of Liverpool, and a consultant at UN-Habitat, Invest-Gate reports.
Abbas explains what the state, represented by the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, is doing in establishing new cities, explaining that Egypt is one of the oldest countries in establishing new cities, as the establishment of new cities’ 1st generation was in 1979.
Moreover, the New Urban Communities Authority is currently constructing the 4th generation of new cities, adding that these cities have different levels of housing, educational and health services.
Also, Abbas indicates that the New Urban Communities Authority is awarded by “UN-Habitat”, in the construction of new cities, low-income housing, and providing a good life for its residents.
