Abu Dhabi Announces USD 30 mn to Upgrade Works to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel

Abu Dhabi City Municipality announces details of upgrade works to be carried out on the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel and Street in Abu Dhabi, at a cost of AED 109 mn.
The project will see the upgrade of new entry and exit points for the tunnel and significant improvements to junctions with other streets, as part of efforts to enhance traffic capacity and improve traffic safety in this vital road, according to emirates news agency WAM.
The project, which is expected to take 790 days to complete, signals the keenness of the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, to upgrade infrastructure, roads, bridges and tunnels in order to leverage the efficiency of municipal services in line with the sustainable development requirements and the Abu Dhabi 2030 vision. The project also forms part of the emirate’s ongoing development to satisfy community’s needs and realise the overall vision of the emirate.
