Abu Dhabi Ports, master developer, operator and manager of Khalifa Industrial Zone (Kizad), announced the launch of Phase 2 of Kizad Logistics Park (KLP), reported Arabian Business.
KLP will include high-quality warehouses in Kizad’s logistics cluster covering an area of 118,965 square meters, according to Construction Week Online.
Construction of Phase 2 has begun following the success of KLP Phase 1, where 64 modular warehouse units are set to be handed over to tenants by Q3 of 2016. The total number of units will then be 105.
“Kizad’s development follows a demand-driven approach; responding to the needs of the market and designing flexible solutions accordingly,” said Mana Mohammed Saeed Al Mulla, chief operating officer, Kizad.
“The 41 warehouses in Phase 1 were 83% leased prior to construction being completed, and 100% leased a few months after that. Since then the need for more high-quality warehousing units has encouraged us to start building Phase 2 of KLP,” added Al Mulla.
Each warehouse will be equipped with 7m clear height to eaves on a 1.3 meter raised floor level, dedicated loading areas, ramp access and designated on-site parking.
Abu Dhabi Ports serves a broad range of logistics and manufacturing investors through managing ten commercial, logistics and leisure ports, including Khalifa Industrial Zone.
