Abu Dhabi’s Marina Mall to Undergo Expansion

Marina Mall, a development by UAE-based National Investment Company (NIC), is set to undergo an AED 3 bn extension, reported The National on Monday.

Work on the extension is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2017 and set to be finished by 2019.

The extension will comprise 120,000 square meters and is designed by Singapore’s DP Architect. It will consist of two parts at the Northern and Southern end of the mall, adding additional retail space and a food court.

Marina Mall has undergone extensions in the past with a major one having been completed three years ago, adding a restaurant tower and several mall facilities, according to the NIC’s project website. Furthermore, the project also includes the upgrade of Abu Dhabi’s existing mall at a cost of AED 300 mn upgrade.
