ACUD Participates in the “Innovation in Social Housing Sector” Conference and Exhibition in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Eng. Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development Company (ACUD), responded positively to an invitation from H.E. Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to participate the “Innovation in Social Housing Sector 2025” Conference, Invest-Gate reports.

The Conference was held under the auspices of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and organized by the Ministry of Housing in cooperation with Eskan Bank from 23-25 April 2025 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center.

During his participation in the Conference, Eng. Abbas affirmed, “The New Administrative Capital is a green, smart, and sustainable city, offering comprehensive educational, healthcare, administrative, commercial, and sports services. It enables the private sector to invest in these services through a wide range of opportunities that ensure strong returns for participating companies while delivering high-quality services to residents. ACUD remains committed to maintaining stringent standards and regulations to encourage effective private sector participation and expand investment windows.”

He also emphasized that the primary tenet in social housing is to ensure that urban planning permits the target group unhindered access to housing units, with all needed services available. Eng. Abbas stated that the government partner has a key role to play in steering the private sector towards the construction and provision of social housing, thus impelling development rates and promoting investment opportunities.

The conference served as an international forum for elite leaders and experts to engage in discussions regarding how the development of social housing can support economic growth and enhance social development. It also focused on establishing new strategies to tackle pertinent challenges, providing a valuable space for strengthening public-private partnerships, exchanging ideas, and charting innovative paths toward enhancing social housing and thereby the quality of life as a whole.
