The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) welcomed on December 12 the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia Haile Meriam Desaline to introduce him to one of the most important development projects in Egypt, the New Administrative Capital (NAC), Invest-Gate reports.
ACUD Spokesperson Khaled Elhusseiny said that a meeting was held with Desaline, who was greeted by ACUD Chairman Ahmed Zaki Abdeen at the company’s headquarters, according to a recent official press release.
During the meeting, ACUD has presented the history of NAC, its inception date and recent updates, as well as the projects NAC encompasses so far.
Elhusseiny added that after the meeting, leaders of ACUD has accompanied Desaline to the NAC site, noting that Ethiopia’s former prime minister praised the massive achievements accomplished in the mega-project until now.
He stated that following the visit of the former Ethiopian prime minister, the company has received a delegation from Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) specialized in infrastructure work, in which AIIB’s delegation, ACUD chairman, and representatives of the Egyptian finance ministry toured NAC on the same day.
The tour included visits to the governmental and housing districts, opera site, business and banks districts, as well as electricity and water plants serving the new capital. Also, the delegation visited El Fattah El Alim Mosque, the Nativity of Christ Cathedral, and the soon-to-be international airport.
