The Administrative Court has rejected an appeal lodged by Qatari Diar to cancel its 30 mn square meter project in Sinai, Al Borsa reported on Wednesday.
The company purchased the land before the issuing of a new law that prohibited foreigners from owning land in Sinai, according to Youm7.
The company has been embroiled in a dispute with the Egyptian government, and it was said to be considering resorting to international arbitration against the Egyptian government, according to unnamed sources, after the land for their City Gate project in New Cairo was taken by force. Later reports, also attributed to unnamed sources, dismissed the possibility that Diar could pursue such arbitration.
