From its inception as a vision to transform Cairo’s Nile Corniche into a modern urban and tourist promenade, the Ahl Misr Walk has become a landmark project since its inauguration in March 2022, Invest-Gate reports. The initiative reflects the collaborative success between Egypt’s Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, and private sector partner Counsel Masters.
Now a prime destination for residents and tourists, Ahl Misr Walk combines modern design with the natural beauty of the Nile, creating an open-air space that embodies sustainability and urban development. Its innovative approach blends heritage with contemporary needs, reinforcing Egypt’s efforts to enhance its tourism offerings and maximize its economic benefits.
Moreover, Counsel Masters’ vision for the project emphasized integrating leisure and shopping experiences along the Nile. In 2023, the project attracted over 2 mn visitors, including many international tourists. The visitors’ social media posts have provided Egypt valuable global exposure, boosting tourism revenues and foreign currency inflow.
Furthermore, the project has generated over 4,200 direct and indirect jobs, emphasizing its socio-economic impact. As part of Egypt’s broader strategy to increase public recreational spaces, the Ahl Misr Walk sets a benchmark in utilizing natural tourism resources.
Counsel Masters’ efforts in promoting the promenade have solidified its place as a must-visit spot on itineraries for both local and international tourists. By turning the Nile into a vibrant, interactive space, Ahl Misr Walk is a testament to Egypt’s commitment to urban and cultural renewal.
