Al-Ahly for Real Estate Development, an Egyptian-based real estate developer, inaugurated in April its first sport facility, ‘Platinum Club,’ in New Cairo, reported Daily News Egypt.
The new club’s facilities cover an area of 28 acres, an investment worth a total of EGP 350 million ($39.4 million), according to Amwal Al Ghad.
This newly inaugurated club is the first of its kind in line with international standards and customers’ aspirations, Hussein Sabbour, Chairperson of Al Ahly for Real Estate Development, told Daily News Egypt.
“The new club offers a wide spectrum of sports and recreational activities,” Sabbour commented during an interview to Amwal Al Ghad. “It brings in experts from international athletics. The club hosts its renowned “Discovery Open Egypt” competition annually since year 2014, where winners get a chance to compete at Nick Bollettieri Discovery Open at IMG Academy Florida.”
One of the club’s initiatives is the Real Madrid Foundation Technical Academy, which conforms to Real Madrid Foundation international standards. Another feature of the club is the Hazem Emam Football Academy.
Sabbour also described the club’s large and prestigious equestrian center, which has 84 stables, a track to host international and local championships, and room for 1,500 spectators. A training school for kids named “Pony Club,” a cigar lounge, and a clubhouse are also part of the new club’s facilities.
Platinum Club also contains numerous closed indoor halls for martial arts and a large pool complex which includes four swimming pools. The club features 17 open courts for tennis, squash, handball, volleyball, basketball, and football.
In addition to the sports centers and courts, Platinum Club is home to various restaurants and social venues, including terrace halls for billiard and chess, a private library, medical clinic, food court, cinema house, birthday party ballroom, and more.
Al Ahly Real Estate intends to build similar clubs in 6th of October city, Mansoura and Upper Egypt governorates.
