Al-Futtaim Real Estate (AFRE) hosts a blood donation event at Cairo Festival City’s The Podium Offices on June 15, 2023, Invest-Gate reports.

The event marks World Blood Donor Day, which falls on June 14 of every year, in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC).

AFRE’s campaign aims to raise awareness about the constant need for blood donation and encourage Cairo Festival City’s diverse community of visitors and employees to donate blood for investors. ERC allocates four beds and a medical team to collect blood donations from volunteers.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our community and society at large and it’s aligned with our strategy to assist the healthcare system in Egypt and help ease the hardship of people facing various emergencies,” says Ashraf Ezz El Din, AFRE’s managing director.

AFRE is a subsidiary of the UAE-based Al-Futtaim Group, which employs over 44,000 people and operates various divisions comprising automotive, electronics, insurance, services, and real estate.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), blood donation can save millions of lives every year and improve the health and quality of life of many patients. However, there is still a shortage of blood and blood products in many countries, especially in developing regions.
