Majid Al Futtaim to Open New Retail Project in Dubai By Year-End

Dubai-based Majid Al Futtaim has announced plans to launch its latest retail project in UAE next December, named “Festival Plaza” and situated at the heart of Dubai’s mixed-use development, Wasl Gate, Invest-Gate reports.

Spanning across 64,800 square meters, Festival Plaza lies in close proximity some of Dubai’s most prominent spots, namely Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, and Energy Metro Station, according to the company’s press statement on July 7.

“Festival Plaza is built around its customers’ needs, which were identified through extensive research; so, this truly is a mall that directly addresses customer demand. The convenience of its location gives it a distinct advantage as well as providing customers with access to anything they may need in their every day lives,” Timothy Earnest, group director of Al Futtaim Malls, was quoted as saying.

Featuring abundant retail, dining, and entertainment options, the new retail addition marks a convenient and local lifestyle destination in the growth corridor of South Dubai, while serving residents of the surrounding communities, including Jebel Ali, Al Furjan, Dubai Marina, as well as, commuters from neighboring Abu Dhabi, according to the statement.

Furthermore, the shopping complex will be home to internationally-renowned shopping outlets, encompassing IKEA, ACE, M&S, Lulu Hypermarket, amongst 120 other brands. In addition, Festival Plaza will comprise a 500-seat food court, over 40 dining selections, stay and play offerings, family and kids entertainment clubs, and more than 2,300 parking lots.
