Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, holds a meeting at the headquarters of the New Administrative Capital Development Authority to follow up on the position of the various projects being implemented in the new capital, including the Central Business District, the Central Parks project, the Third Residential District “Capital Residence” and the Fifth Residential district (New Garden City), and others, Invest-Gate reports.
Al-Gazzar stresses the need to adhere to the deadlines set for the completion of the implementation of various projects, and to implement the various components of the projects with the highest quality suitable for NAC.
The housing minister reveals that work on the glass facades of a number of towers in the Central Business District is being completed, in parallel with the implementation of the interior finishing works, adding that that the Central Business District in the new capital, including 20 towers with various uses, including the iconic tower, which is the highest tower in Africa, with a height of about 400 meters.
Al-Gazzar states that investments of this project are estimated at about $3 bn dollars, and it is being implemented in cooperation between the Ministry of Housing, represented by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), and China State Construction Engineering Corporation, which is one of the largest contracting companies in the world.
The minister added that the rate of implementation of works in the “Capital Park” project exceeds 89%, noting that the project has an area of about 1,000 feddans.
It is worth noting that Capital Residence is situated on 1,016 feddans, and work is completed in the neighborhood, which includes 8 districts, comprising 24,130 housing units, distributed as follows, 697 residential buildings, with 19,944 housing units; 328 villas, with 328 housing units; 157 townhouse buildings, with 624 housing units; and 64 mixed residential buildings, with 2,560 housing units.
Furthermore, the housing minister is briefed on the development of the “Downtown” towers in New Alamein City, which is implemented by CSCEC
The project includes the construction of 5 residential towers fully finished and services and the towers overlook an artificial lake and include the iconic tower with a height of 250 meters (68 floors) with a total area of 465,000 sqm. They are scheduled to be implemented within 45 months, and 4 towers with a height of 200 meters for the tower (56 Dora) with a total area of 320 thousand square meters, and are scheduled to be implemented within 39 months.
