Sisi Inaugurates Al Mahrousa 1 in El Salam City

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inaugurated on December 15 a social housing project in El-Salam City, Al Mahrousa 1, Invest-Gate reports.

The inauguration came in the light of the state’s strategy to eliminate slums, or informal areas in general, and to provide suitable housing and living conditions for their dwellers in Egypt, according to a TV broadcasted statement.

Established with investments worth EGP 640 mn, Mahrousa 1 spans across 33 acres and comprises 3,229 residential units. It also features 84 shops, six sales outlets, a 40-square-meter nursery, a 125-square-meter medical center, a police station, a 400-square-meter mosque, a church to be established soon, as well as 2,500-square-meter playgrounds.

Al Mahrousa 1 and Al Mahrousa 2 housing projects are set to comprise 4,900 residential units. The whole project is built on 60 acres, with 34.7 acres are allocated for buildings, 14.2 acres for services, and 2.7 acres for green areas and landscape, in addition to 8.4 acres for roads.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the Informal Settlements Development Fund (ISDF).
