Abu Dhabi developer Aldar Properties is to open a 2.4 kilometer canal in its Shams development on Reem Island, Invest-Gate reports.
The developer announced on March 8 that it is preparing to open one of its key amenities, undergoing final testing and commissioning work ahead of its scheduled flooding in early April.
“Shams is becoming one of the most sought-after destinations in the city, thanks to the quality of the developments and its prime location on Reem Island,” said Aldar Properties’ Chief Development Talal Al Dhiyebi.
“This new canal will play an integral part of the community, as it runs through the heart of the development, and provides many areas for meeting up, exercising, and socializing. We look forward to its opening, in addition to other upcoming community events and amenities in the near future,” he added.
Aldar is close to completing over 23 kilometers of walkways, a 1,550 meters of cycle paths, and a 3,650 meter promenade along the coastal scape.
