Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities states that the total investments allocated for potable water and sanitation projects in Qalyubia in the previous seven years, since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took over, estimated at EGP 7 bn, Invest-Gate reports.
For his part, Mamdouh Raslan, chairman of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW), confirms that the company aims to apply the concept of sustainable development in all its services and activities, according to the ministry’s statement.
In this context, Hassan El-Far, head of the Executive Authority for water and waste water, declares that the investments have included the execution and delivery of 149 projects for EGP 6 bn.
Besides, Mostafa Megahed, head of Qalyubia for Water and Waste Water Company (QLBWW), stresses that several potable water and sanitation projects have been implemented at EGP 1 bn, as well as supporting the mechanical fleet by purchasing 224 equipment and cars for EGP 116.07 mn.
Megahed adds that during the past 7 years, the cost of the networks’ replacement and renewal and artesian wells to improve potable water services is estimated at EGP 279.8 mn, while the cost of the replacement and renewals of lifting stations and networks is at EGP 228.5 mn.
Furthermore, Megahed indicates that the self-financed potable water projects in FY 2019/20 are estimated at EGP 7 mn, while the sanitation projects are for EGP 14 mn.
