Amer Holding Group (Amer Group) announced that its subsidiary, Tropi 2 for Development, has obtained a license from the General Authority for Tourism Development to launch Polotano, the newest phase of Porto Sokhna. The development carries investments exceeding EGP 5bn and will deliver 2,086 residential and commercial units, Invest-Gate reports.
Porto Sokhna, launched in 2007, spans 2.5mn sqm and overlooks the Red Sea from 270 meters above sea level. With the new phase, Amer Group targets sales of more than EGP 8bn, expected to generate strong cash flows and sustainable long-term returns.
Mr. Sherif Khalil, CEO of Amer Group, said the expansion reflects the company’s vision to create fully integrated communities that blend luxury, serenity, and family living. He stressed that the project underscores the Group’s confidence in Egypt’s real estate market and its contribution to the national economy.
Ms. Nihal Issa, Chief Marketing Officer of Amer Group, noted that Polotano will reinforce Porto Sokhna’s position as a premier touristic and urban destination, introducing modern units and experiences designed with sustainability in mind.
Eng. Mohamed Saeed, CEO of Tropi 2 for Urban Development, added that Amer Group will also renovate the resort’s hotel, expanding capacity to 200 rooms, while upgrading beach and infrastructure facilities to welcome more visitors.
Porto Sokhna remains one of Egypt’s pioneering integrated communities, offering leisure, shopping, and entertainment facilities, including Egypt’s first cable car, an amusement park, kids’ clubs, private beaches, and the largest shopping mall in the coastal area. The launch of Polotano coincides with an events calendar starting October 10, 2025, headlined by a concert from Tamer Hosny.
