Egyptian real estate developer Arab Contractors will establish a new road in Kuwait worth EGP 10 bn to ease traffic congestion, Invest-Gate reports.
This comes as part of a protocol signed between Kuwaiti Minister of Public Works Abdelrahman Al Metawe’a and CEO of Arab Contractors Mohsen Salah.
“This protocol is a great opportunity for the company to expand its services in Kuwait,” says Kuwaiti Minister Salah.
The El Noyeseeb Road project is expected to be finalized within 36 months. The project, which includes the establishment of bridges, exists and entrances in the country’s southern cities, is expected to ease traffic flow and limit road accidents.
Approximately 37 kilometers of roads containing three lanes will be developed. All U-turns will be shut down as they were previously the cause of many accidents.
The project developments are being supervised by leading engineering consultancy firm Parsons Brinckerhoff International and some Gulf consultants.
Arab Contractors is currently developing the fourth phase of another road project El Gaharaa in Kuwait that spans 53 kilometers at a total cost of KWD 261 mn.
Other developments of Arab Contractors include Gaber Ahmed El Sabah Hospital, the Police Force Academy and Islamic Studies Building.
