Arabia Hotels, a subsidiary of Arabia Group, has celebrated the commencement of construction for the Fairmont Hotel in the Sun Capital project, Invest-Gate reports.
The Sun Capital project is one of the most significant residential projects in west Cairo.
The ceremony was attended by several officials and members of the House of Representatives, including Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI); Khaled Abdel Aal, Governor of Cairo; Noura Ali, Chairman of the House of Representatives Tourism Committee; Ahmed El Tayebi, Deputy Representative of the House of Representatives Tourism Committee; and Frank Naboulsi, Vice President of Operations at Accor Egypt and the General Manager of Fairmont Nile City.
The Fairmont Sun Capital Hotel project will be constructed on prime location within the Sun Capital project, spanning an area of 240,000 sqm and offering views of the Giza Pyramids area. The total investment for the hotel is $220 mn.
It will consist of a hotel building with 500 diverse hotel rooms, contributing to Egypt’s hotel capacity, and another building housing 650 hotel apartments managed by the Fairmont brand. This marks the first time in Egypt and the history of the Fairmont brand.
Additionally, the project includes an administrative building to cater to customer needs. Construction is planned to be completed within four years, with the trial opening and reception of visitors scheduled for 2028.
